Chagganooga (that's how B says it)

We met Chad's dad yesterday in Chattanooga for him to take Briley home to B'ham. He brought cousin Abby with him. We ate pizza and then went to the Children's Discovery Museum (so much fun!). I had to post these pictures because they were so good. You can tell Briley and Abby are THRILLED to see each other! I know Briley is going to have a great week with Nana and Papa. I can't wait to hear all about it. *A little musical tribute to MJ to go with the pictures*

How quickly we learn

This morning Tinsley was playing with the kitchen upstairs. She climbed up in a chair, put her cup in the "microwave," closed the door and proceeded to push buttons--priceless! She loves to use her spoon and fork when she is eating real food, and she is getting very good at it. This pleases Daddy the most since he doesn't like the mess. It's amazing what she can do already.

Briley constantly amazes me with what she is soaking up. Her latest thing is to play "pharmacist" (she and T are usually with me when I'm dropping off at Walgreens). She gets the phone and asks for whom you need a prescription, birth date, address and when you'll be back to get it. So funny!

This picture was from the other day when Briley "had her baby girl." Tinsley came to visit them in the hospital :-)

Daddy's hands

"Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22: 6 NAS

I love you Daddy, and I thank God for making you my dad. I can never really say thank you enough for all the things that you have done and continue to do for me and my family. I just want you to know that I love you, I love you, I love you! Happy Father's Day!
Happy Father's Day to my wonderful husband as well. You are a magnificent daddy to our precious girls, and that is one of God's greatest blessings in my life. We love you!

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree

We had some major storms here today ... this was the end result for our backyard and many others in our neighborhood. It's kind of ironic since we really don't have many trees around. There is a silver lining--it smells like a Christmas tree on our screened-in porch. When I said that to Briley, she had no idea what I meant (we have a fake, pre-lit tree at Christmas). I think it might be time for a real tree!!!

Show and tell at swim lessons

Today was the final day of swim lessons, and parents were able to come watch the last 30 minutes. Daddy took a long lunch, and Granny and her friend came too--Briley was thrilled to have them all there. She did great and loved going to her lessons (thankfully, she is a good swimmer and didn't have to endure too much of Ms. Mildred's tough love)! Until next year ...

Recent pictures

This is for my mom. She "loves" it when we hold the camera out and take the picture ourselves. Briley did this one night while playing with my camera ... starting early with Granny's favorite pose.

Tinsley checking her email. I don't know where she has seen this???? Ha ha!

Decorating herself with stickers!

First day of swim lessons. She was excited to go, thankfully!

NKOTB

Oh, the glory days of boy bands. I had a chance to attend the concert tonight in Atlanta with my sister-in-law, but it didn't work out. Therefore, I just had to take a minute and reminisce about the old days (and put some Hangin' Tough on here). I went to see the New Kids on the Block twice during their initial hay day. The first time was the summer before my freshman year of high school which was 1988. My mom took me and Marcy to Nashville to go with her cousin and her cousin's boyfriend. The second time was sometime around our sophomore year when we saw them in Knoxville (thanks to Marcy for remembering all the time lines here-your memory is incredible!). Donnie was my favorite member of the band. I guess I was into the "bad boys" in my youth---ha ha ha! We had a great time back then, and I think it would be a blast to go and experience it all again in my 30's. Maybe I'll catch a concert before they break up again ... I wish I could find some pictures from the concerts, but I have no idea where to start looking. I did find this wonderful picture from our freshman year of high school (Marcy, please don't be mad). Enjoy the music--get those hands in the air and wave them like you just don't care :-)

Feeding her baby

I really don't remember Briley being into baby dolls at this age, but Tinsley loves them. I'm sure it has to do with watching her big sister. Check out my sweet girl feeding her baby (I just realized it's hard to see her in this small version because there wasn't much light in the room). Mute the player at the bottom so you can hear her talking at the end.

Splash Country

The girls and I went to Splash Country by ourselves on Monday. All in all, it was a great success! I wasn't sure how hard it would be with both of them by myself, but they did great. It wasn't very crowded, but I did see one girl from church and two girls I knew in high school. Needless to say, we'll be splitting our time this summer between SC and the Karns community pool.

Here we are before leaving. We all had our princess shirts on that I ordered when Tinsley was born---too cute!

This is what 3 1/2 hours at SC, some sunscreen in your hair and not enough nap time looks like-ha!
